A child's development during the first three years of a child's life sets the stage of for the rest of a child's life. The session discusses what toxic stress is and how the various forms of toxic stress (e.g., neglect, parental addictions, domestic violence, abuse, etc) impact the young child’s developing brain in the areas of language, emotional regulation, attention, sleep, learning, etc, grounded in the significance of the attachment relationship.
