Session Time

June 27

Participants will learn how the Sixpence Early Learning Fund grant program is closing the achievement gap before kindergarten by targeting our state’s youngest, most at-risk children and preparing them to arrive at school ready for success. An innovative partnership between our state’s public and private sectors, Sixpence provides funding, enhances the quality of early childhood services in communities throughout the state, and helps maximize the resources we dedicate to preparing the next generation of Nebraskans to thrive. Participants will gain an understanding about how the Endowment works to fund grants to 31 school districts and their community partners to operate 14 high-quality centers and 28 home-based family engagement programs serving almost 1000 of Nebraska’s most at-risk infants and toddlers.
