Carrie has spent the past 20 years in the fields of education and mental and behavioral health working with children, adolescents and their families Her past professional experiences include behavior interventionist, certified family teacher, and family consultant at Boys Town, psychology instructor at both Peru State College and Concordia University, and therapist and behavior consultant for Cedars Youth Services. Mrs. Gottschalk currently works in private practice as a trainer, consultant, and child and family therapist, with offices in Seward and Lincoln. In her work as a trainer and consultant, Mrs. Gottschalk works for such agencies as Nebraska Department of Education and Nebraska Children and Families Foundation providing training and coaching on The Pyramid Model (aka Early Childhood Positive Behavioral Supports) to educators and child care providers throughout the state. Carrie specializes in early childhood mental health and working with children and families at-risk. She is trained provider in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Child Parent Psychotherapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Theraplay, and Circle of Security Parenting.
